Many clients simply want a little something
different or extra to punch up the decor in a room. There are many
ways to do that without doing a full wall mural.
Patterns and florals in curtains or upholstery
fabric can be duplicated on walls and furniture. Vines and fruit
are popular choices as are theme items such as golf items, sports
equipment, or favorite personal items.
Janet Weber specializes in trompe oleil which
means, "fool the eye". It is a technique in which an item
is painted to appear so real that people are tempted to pick it
up. This can be done with small items or with architectural elements
such as doors, archways, windows, stone walls, brick, etc. It especially
lends itself to personal items that have special meaning to the
client. Such things can include books, animals, kitchen items, and
just about anything else. Below, you will find example of these
artistic touches.
